The Reading branch of this well-known organisation has its HQ in the heart of Newtown, in Cholmeley Road.
Between 9.00 and 22.00 people can drop in without appointment if they need
to talk to someone. The service is completely confidential. non-judgemental and of course free!
As well as making themselves known to potential callers, Reading Samaritans are always on the look-out for new volunteers to help answer over 30,000 calls each year: over 100 are required to maintain this branch alone. There are regular information meetings to which anyone who is interested can come along to find out more. - See www.samaritans.org/reading for more information including dates.
The Reading Town Forum is a local community website for exchanging your views on
anything connected with Reading; History, old school and work mates, news items, events
