Newtown Neighbourhood Action Group

What is a Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG). [The Thames Valley Police website describes it here.]
The NAG members ( police, local council officers, councillors, community workers and residents ) meets about once a month to progress tasks aimed to resolve perceived neighbourhood problems.

The Newtown NAG was formed in Nov 2006 following the initial Public Meetings. The top 3 priorities identified were; Drugs, Anti-social behaviour and litter/household waste. Members of the NAG have accepted tasks aimed at reducing the problems.
