Policy and MissionThis website has been created to advance communications between the voluntary and community groups within the East Reading area and between these groups and the people within this area. We aim to be the good guys; or more formally we aim to provide an information resource for the area and to operate without prejudice or bias. We are not party-political and we neither practice nor tolerate discrimination based on colour, sex, race, religion, age, ability, height, width or musical tastes. We celebrate diversity and the inspiration it can create. We want tomorrow to be [even] better than today and we want to help this happen.
We will strive to operate a website that is accessible to as many people as possible and we will comply with appropriate standards to ensure the information is available to the maximum number of people. Although we are dedicated to the East Reading (Berkshire, UK) area we will not discriminate against those people who are propinquitously disadvantaged. If you think this web site is discriminatory or offensive to you or any individual or group, please inform the web manager. If you think the policy can be enhanced, inform the web manager. If you think we need to improve on the standards, please inform the web manager.
The icons and links at the bottom of this page indicate that we aim to produce web pages that conform to standards that will ensure our pages behave the same way with a variety of browsers, that the user, not the designer, is in charge of the presentation and that the user may use any browser to access the page. This site uses the ICRA rating system to classify web content and permit users to control the type of information they accept. Here is a description of the ICRA system. If you believe this site is not applying the standards correctly then you can contact the web manager or click on the ICRA icon below, and click on contact button then click on 'complaints about websites other than fosi.org' which will take you to the complaints page. The ICRA site also includes helpful advice on avoiding offensive material. If your children use the internet then I would recommend reading the ICRA parents pages. |
